Any thoughts from the folks who use my forum more than I do (most of you!) about the current format ... colors, fonts, etc.? The way it was before, the colors, fonts and various graphics better matched my main site at www.super8filmmaking.com, but all those settings died weeks ago when the new Hostboard software was activated. I am going to put the graphics I had back and also put back the links (to the Buy-Sell forum and to the main site), but I don't want to muck around with anything color- and font-wise if it will displease you guys who make the forum so worthwhile.
So, what do you think? The previous default font was a monospaced Courier, like a typewriter. It's what's on my main page. I used it there and here because, hey, Super-8 and film in general is old technology -- sort of like the typewriter? But the current font seems very readable. The previous colors were pastels -- yellows, baby blue, pink. I'm not in love with the current colors, but they are OK if you like them.
Do we want to change back, leave well enough alone or change things to something completely different? Keep in mind the Hostboard software limits what I can change, but there are settings for some appearance elements.
Thanks!

I have no complaints with things just as they are now, and find the print very easy to read. In fact, I think it's great and am really glad the board is here as I check it more than once a day.

Agree with the previous posts.
Very good. No need to alter it.
Besides, hasn?t the S8 entered a new era this millennium? Appropriate with that new look?
Thanks to You Mike Brantley for not giving up the enthusiasm for S8 and keeping it going until it got a new upraise.
I thought the S8 would die with the sound striped film.
Well, I was wrong, luckily.

OK, thanks for the input. I'm not going to mess with the font and likely will leave the colors alone too. I've added a few of the graphics back and will work on the links later. I might do some more custom bottons for some of the commands, but I will have to make them first.
Thanks again!

Cool. Thanks. It looks great the way it is. I like Courier but for some reason it doesn't translate so well on the web.

OK, I'm done tinkering for now. The old links are restored, the graphics are back (with new ones added) and the descriptions are written. Now, let's see how long it will take you guys to find my little joke.

i've noticed that the "movies" link has about 29 forums (soon to be 100s i'm sure). it seems that many of these are not true forums, a real waste. my wish is to see real active and popular forums be placed under there own catagory instead of general terms such as movies.

Yeah, the current font seems very readable. Looking at the bottom of this screen, where I've added the icons for New Topic and Add Reply, can you guys see any other commands? I can see Close Topic and Move Topic and a couple of other things, but I'm thinking those may be only visible to moderators. I won't bother making camera icons for them if no one but me can see those.
Also, the two cameras -- a Beaulieu and a Canon -- are mine. Funny thing is the little pic in the main logo shows a Nizo, and I've never owned one of those! Maybe I'll have to buy one off eBay one day.

Please, don't overdo the graphics. some of us in the boonies still only have 56k modems, and big pictures take time to load.
